Random Living Room Ideas

As the name suggests, these instrumentals were conceived by random thoughts, ideas and melodies generated by my ever-so-active mind. Once a melody forms in my head, I’m off to the races to find a way to record or document it. Thanks to the audio recording app that comes along with every iPhone, I’m able to hum all my ideas and turn them into wonderful music.

Kyoto

Composed by: Stanley Poon

Date Released: 7.11.2024

Kyoto, on the surface, combines oriental elements and long chord progressions that is distinctive of Japanese music. If you ever come across a band called Wagakki, then you'll notice how their prowess lies in combining native Japanese instruments with modern and upbeat metal music, creating a unique genre that stays true to their heritage. Kyoto is influenced by this idea. The song starts with a  native approach, followed by a very strong upbeat delivery and ends with an elegant finish.
